Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Tourism & Civil Aviation Department, Government of Sikkim, collects, uses, stores, and protects the information submitted through the Tourism Trade Registration & Renewal Portal.
Information We Collect
- Applicant/Establishment details: name of establishment, owner/proprietor name, address, contact number, and email address.
- Identity & business documents: Aadhaar/identity proof, business registration/trade licence, GST details, and other documents uploaded in support of the application.
- Application details: entity category, grade selected, and category-specific declarations submitted through the portal.
- Payment information: transaction reference, payment status, and amount paid — card, UPI, or net-banking details are processed directly by the payment gateway and are not stored by the Department.
- Technical information: login timestamps and portal usage data required for account access and application tracking.
How the Information Is Used
- To process new registration and renewal applications for tourism trade entities under the Sikkim Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 2024.
- To verify eligibility, category/grade, and supporting documents submitted by the applicant.
- To generate application status updates, payment acknowledgements, and registration/renewal certificates.
- To communicate with the applicant regarding their application, payment, or inspection status.
- To maintain departmental records for regulatory, statistical, and audit purposes.
Sharing of Information
- Information is shared only with authorized officials of the Tourism & Civil Aviation Department involved in processing, verification, or inspection of the application.
- Payment details are shared only with the authorized payment gateway/bank strictly for completing the transaction.
- Information may be disclosed where required by law, court order, or a competent government authority.
- Applicant information is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Security & Retention
- Reasonable technical and administrative safeguards are used to protect applicant data against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
- Application and payment records are retained for the period required under applicable government record-retention rules.
- Applicants are responsible for keeping their portal login credentials confidential.
Applicant Rights & Contact
- Applicants may request access to, or correction of, their submitted application details by contacting the Department before final approval.
